ADD-ON SHORT TERM CERTIFICATE COURSES

Short Term Certificate Courses are organized in the College, for the benefit of our students, staff and the interested locals, side by side with their graduation studies. Certificates of completion of such Courses are issued by the College. The main purpose of such facility is to enable the beneficiaries to enhance their skills and competencies or even learn them as hobbies.

These courses are notified on the College Notice Boards from time to time. The Courses conducted in the last few years are: Glass Painting, Mehendi Designing, Candle Making, Mushroom Cultivation, Fruits & Vegetables Preservation & Nutrition Education, Chocolate Making, Perfume Making, Mehendi Application, Soft Toys Making, Photography, Video Shooting, Thermocol Art Work, Agarbatti Making, Rangoli, Personality Development & Communication Skills, Tie & Dye, Fruits & Vegetables Carving, Artificial Flower Making, Beautician's Art, Handwriting Skills, Fabric, Nib & Puff Painting, Imitation Jewelry Making, Compering, Hand Embroidery & Theatre Art, Indian Light Vocal.

U.G.C’s CAREER-ORIENTED ADD-ON CERTIFICATE COURSE IN JOURNALISM

UGC sponsored Career-oriented course in “Journalism”, was launched on 27th September, 2008, under UGC’s Career-Oriented Add-on Courses at First Year Degree Level in the College. The said Course runs parallel to the conventional B.A., B.Com. degrees. At the end of the Course, the students will be equipped with a Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma, accordingly.

I. General particulars:

i) Duration of the Course: one academic year

ii) Duration of one Lecture: 1 hour

iii) Applicant can write/present Reports in any one of the following languages: (English/ Marathi/Konkani)

iv) The Course will have three theory papers and one Practical paper

v) Certificate will be awarded on the basis of overall performance inclusive of practical work.

vi) Fees for the course: Rs.750/-

II. Eligibility, Terms & Conditions of the Course:

1. Bonafide students studying preferably in first year B.A./B.Com. in Govt.College, Pernem, can apply for the course.

2. No. of students to be admitted: 40 only

3. Admission will be given on first-come-first serve basis

4. In any case, fees may not be refundable

5. Attendance will be strictly followed

6. Applicant’s misbehavior may lead to cancellation of admission

7. Lectures will be held after 2.00 p.m. on instructional days and in the morning sessions during holidays

(a) There will be continuous assessment in the form of objective/non-objective tests. Normally, there will be three unit tests of 20 marks each on papers I, II and III, which will carry objective questions. The details are as follows:

PASSING PERCENTAGE FOR THE COURSE:- In order to pass in the Certificate Course in Journalism, the students should score a minimum 40% marks in the course.
