SEMESTER – I

[Seven papers under (i) to (v) below shall carry 100 marks each. The compulsory paper on Environment Studies shall carry 50 marks]


(i) Spoken English

(ii) One paper in a Language chosen from the following : Hindi/Konkani/Marathi

(iii) One paper in each of the three subjects selected from the Major Category/Group : History, Geography, Economics  OR Hindi, Marathi, Geography

(iv) One paper in Foundation Course : History of India’s Freedom Struggle OR   Resource Geography of Goa

(v) Information Technology

(vi) Environment Studies

SEMESTER – II

[Seven papers under (i) to (v) below shall carry 100 marks each. The compulsory paper on Environment Studies shall carry 50 marks]

(i) Written English

Second Year B. A. (New Course, 2009-2010)

SEMESTER – III

[Seven papers under (i) to (v) below shall carry 100 marks each]

(i) English

(ii) Foundation Course (any one paper not opted for in Semester - I & II) History of India’s Freedom Struggle OR Resource Geography of Goa

(iii) One paper in each of the same three subjects from the Major Category /Group offered in Semester-I & II History, Geography, Economics OR Hindi, Marathi, Geography

(iv) Allied Component [one paper in a subject allied to any one of the  Major subjects as  offered in (iii) above] : Mediums of Mass Communication (Hindi) OR The Art of Reading (Marathi) OR Labour Welfare & Industrial Relations (Economics) OR Tourism Geography (Geography)

(v) One paper in : Population Studies OR Gender Studies

SEMESTER – IV

[Seven papers under (i) to (v) below shall carry 100 marks each]

(i) English

(ii) Foundation Course (any one paper not opted for in Semester - I & II) History of India’s Freedom Struggle OR Resource Geography of Goa

(iii) One paper in each of the same three subjects from the Major Category /Group offered in Semester-I, II & III History, Geography, Economics OR Hindi, Marathi, Geography

(iv) Allied Component [one paper in a subject allied to any one of the  Major subjects as  offered in (iii) above] : Mediums of Mass Communication (Hindi) OR The Art of Reading (Marathi) OR Labour Welfare & Industrial Relations (Economics) OR Tourism Geography (Geography)

(v) One paper on Self Development OR Ettiquette OR Goan Heritage

Third Year B. A. (New Course, 2009-2010)

SEMESTER -V

[The Six  papers under (A) shall carry 100 marks each, whereas the Skill-based papers shall carry 50 marks each. Marks scored in the Skill-based papers shall be converted into letter grade as given in the Scheme of Examination]

(A) Three papers each in any two elective Subjects offered in Semester I, II, III & IV History-Economics OR Geography-Economics OR Geography-Hindi OR Marathi-History OR All Six papers in Hindi OR All Six papers in Marathi

(B) Two papers on Skill-based subjects.

(Note : Topic for the Project Work, to be completed in Semester-VI, shall be given in Semester-V. The Candidate shall be required to carry out work for the Project during Semesters,V & VI. The assessment of the Project will be carried at the end of Semester-VI)

SEMESTER -VI

[The Seven papers under (A) & (B) shall carry 100 marks each. Marks scored in the Project paper shall be converted into letter grade as given in the Scheme of Examination]

(A) Three papers each in any two elective Subjects offered in Semester I, II, III, IV & V History-Economics OR Geography-Economics OR Geography-Hindi OR Marathi-History OR All Six papers in Hindi OR All Six papers in Marathi

(B) One  Project Paper on the given topic preferably related to any one of the Major/ Elective Subjects offered in (A) above.

(Note:Topic for the Project Work, to be completed in Semester-VI, shall be given in Semester-V. The Candidate shall be required to carry out work for the Project during Semesters, V & VI. The assessment of the Project will be carried at the end of Semester-VI)
